Glory Glory
by Mark E. Ellis

1.
Glory, glory, God almighty
God of goodness, God of grace,
May your word shine ever brightly,
With the brilliance of your face.

2.
Glory, glory, God all loving,
God of mercy, God of might,
Watching from the heavens above me,
Never absent from your sight.

Ch.
God of wonder, God of greatness
Lord of comfort, Lord of peace,
God who saves us from the darkness,
Calls us to the victory feast.

3.
Glory, glory, God creator,
God most holy, God most high,
Ever truth's illuminator,
Let your glory magnify.

I Will Follow You
The 23rd Psalm

by Mark E. Ellis and Steve Christy

Ch.
I will follow you, oh Lord for you are the Shepherd of my soul,
I will follow you, oh Lord. Wherever you may lead I will go.

1.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul.

Ch.
I will follow you, oh Lord for you are the Shepherd of my soul,
I will follow you, oh Lord. Wherever you may lead I will go.

2.
The LORD is my shepherd; He leadeth me
In the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil

Ch.
I will follow you, oh Lord for you are the Shepherd of my soul,
I will follow you, oh Lord. Wherever you may lead I will go.

Br. For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me
In the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil;

Ch.
I will follow you, oh Lord for you are the Shepherd of my soul,
I will follow you, oh Lord. Wherever you may lead I will go.

3.
The LORD is my shepherd; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever,
The house of the LORD for ever.

TAG, YOU'RE IT!
Lyrics by Peter Merz Music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
Noah was a simple man, and he had a simple plan.
But then Yahweh said to him, "You know, the earth is full of sin,
So build Me an ark, before I make the hard rain start
Noah, you're the one I choose, and you're the one I'm gonna use"

Noah, tag, you're it!
I'm choosing you and yours to start a brave new world
And I know for sure, you'll make it clean and pure
Noah, tag, you're it!

2.
Abram, he was down in Ur, sitting 'neath a Juniper
But God told him to leave his home in Chaldees
Sent him to the Promised Land, and called him "Father Abraham"
"Abram, you're the one I choose, and you're the one I'm gonna use"

Abram, tag, you're it!
I'm choosing you and yours to bless all the earth
And I know for sure, you'll make it clean and pure.
Abram, tag, you're it!

3.
David, he was tending sheep, watching those in his keep
When Samuel said, "You're the one, you're the heir to the throne
From You will come a Savior, He'll be God's only Son
David, you're the one He'll choose. You're the one He's gonna use."

God said, tag, you're it!
I'm choosing you and yours to build my kingdom strong
And I know for sure you'll make it clean and pure.
David, tag, you're it!

4.
You never know who God may choose, or who He's gonna use.
Often it's common people just like you and me.
He'll use your hearts and hands to fulfill His masterplan
If it's you He'll choose, will you be there to use?

When God says, Tag, you're it.
I'm choosing you and yours to fulfill my plan
And I know for sure you'll make it clean and pure
When God says, Tag, you're it.

Bridge of Love Lyrics
by Al Perron Music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
The bridge that spans a winding river
And links one shore to the other side,
It must be strong in stormy weather
To stem the wrath of a swollen tide.

2.
There is a bridge of love that binds us,
Connects our hearts like a mighty chain.
If clouds of doubt should someday find us
We know each link will stand the strain.

Ch.
A bridge of love, my Lord, that leads to you.
A bridge of love, my Lord, your will I do.
A bridge of love.

3.
As years go by and tell their story
Through pounding rains from the skies above,
A bridge well built will stand in glory.
We put our faith in the bridge of love.

We'll walk above the swirling water
Where sin-wrecked souls are doomed to stay.
As Jesus leads us to the Father.
The bridge of love is the Lord's highway.

Ch.
A bridge of love, my Lord, that leads to you.
A bridge of love, my Lord, your will I do.
A bridge of love.

Still You Love Me
Lyrics by Mark E. Ellis Music by Steve Christy

1.
All too often I desert you,
And still you love me, still you love me.
I do and say things I know hurt you
And still you love me, still you love me.

I push down the crown of thorns that cuts into your head.
I strike you with the lash until your back is bloody red.
I cast lots for the clothes you wear, I ignore the tears you shed.
And still you love me, still you love me.

2. So many times I've disobeyed you
And still you love me, still you love me.
Any moment I'll betray you
And still you love me, still you love me.

With Pilate and the Pharisees I share the judgment seat.
I stand there and watch as you collapse into the street
I'm the one who swings the hammer, driving nails into your feet.
And still you love me, still you love me.

Br.
You said your love is endless But can that be true for me?
I'm your judge, your executioner. My salvation can't be free.

3.
Every day I seem to fail you
And still you love me, still you love me.
With the spear I still impale you
And still you love me, still you love me.

I don't deserve your love, Lord, yet you give it without cost.
I'm the worst of all the sinners, most lost of all the lost.
It was I who crucified you. I put you on that cross.
And still you love me, still you love me, still you love me.

CHANGE OF HEART
by D.J. Armstrong and Mark E. Ellis

Ch.
Change of heart, change of heart,
A whole new life, a brand new start.
Change of heart, that's what you give,
New life to live, change of heart.

1.
Through many doors I've walked
Sometimes feeling lost.
But you've brought me further
Than I would have ever thought.

A whole new life, a brand new start.
Change of heart, that's what you give,
New life to live, change of heart.

2.
If I should take my last breath
And feel you touch my soul,
I would feel only joy
As my spirit soared. Change of heart.

Br.
Reason to live, life set apart.
No fear or doubt, change of heart.

Ch.
Change of heart, change of heart,
A whole new life, a brand new start.

Open Your Heart to the Lord
Words and Music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
The day is gray and you wonder if you should even get out of bed.
You life's been hard and there's no doubt there are more bad days ahead.
But deep inside you've always felt that one day you would find
The way to peace and happiness and leave this life behind.

Ch.
Open your heart to the Lord and ask Him to come in.
Let Him know that you love Him so and the healing will begin.

2.
The sun is hot and you wipe your brow. Your work never seems to be done.
You think about the dreams you had for your future when you were young.
Now these dreams seem so far away but you still pray you will find.
The way to peace and happiness and leave this life behind.

Ch.
Open your heart to the Lord and ask Him to come in.
Let Him know that you love Him so and the healing will begin.

Br.
Evening comes and you're all alone again.
Day to day that sameness never ends.

3.
The night is cold, you crawl into bed, pull the blanket up tight to your chin.
As you wait for sleep to come that familiar old sadness sets in.
You wonder why your life's this way and you pray someday you'll find
The way to peace and happiness and leave this life behind.

Ch.
Open your heart to the Lord and ask Him to come in.
Let Him know that you love Him so and the healing will begin.

The Old Wooden Chapel
Lyrics by Joe Hummer Music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
On a dusty country road
There's an old wooden chapel
Where I worshiped with my family
As a child long ago.

And my heart is still there
In that old wooden chapel
I can still hear the hymns
That used to set my Heart aglow.

Ch.
Precious Memories
The Old Rugged Cross
And Amazing Grace Would fill the air.
Yes, my heart will always be
In that old wooden Chapel
Where I gave my life to Jesus
So many years ago.

2.
I will always remember
That old wooden Chapel
And when I get to heaven,
Meet my family up above

I will hear those church bells ringing
I will join my family singing
In that old wooden chapel
The wooden chapel that I love.

Repeat Chorus twice

Tag
It's an old wooden chapel,
Just a little country Chapel,
But it's where I first met Jesus
And His love still fills me so.

He Is Coming
Lyrics by Joe Hummer Music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
I looked up into Heaven
When I heard the trumpet sound.
God was calling us to battle
There were soldiers all around.

2.
The ground began to tremble
And the mountains shook with force
The mighty oceans bellowed
And the rivers changed their course

Ch.
He is coming to redeem us
He is coming to prepare
The bridge that spans the Heavens
We will cross it in the air
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
All salvation, power and grace
He is coming, he is coming,
The Lord of Glory reigns
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

3.
I could see the Master's Army
In the air and on the Land
The Devil's time had ended
And God's victory was at hand

4.
His eye's were filled with mercy
I saw glory on His face
The multitudes were praising
As he came to take His place

Repeat chorus

Goodbye Old Friend
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
I've come to say goodbye, old friend.
I don't understand why, old friend.
And though I know it's time for you to go
I don't want you to.
I still remember the day we met.
That big old smile of yours is hard to forget.
The things you'd say in that special way
You know I'm gonna miss you.

Ch.
And it must be that God has something special
Up in heaven for you to do,
'Cause I can't think of anyone who'd
Make a better angel than you.

2.
I've come to say goodbye, old friend.
I said I wasn't gonna cry, old friend.
So I apologize for these tears in my eyes,
But I can't hold them in.
You see you've really mattered to me.
If not for you I'm not sure where I'd be.
You stood at my side when my life started to slide
And helped me find meaning again.

Ch.
And it must be that God has something special
Up in heaven for you to do,
'Cause I can't think of anyone who'd
Make a better angel than you. .

Br.
I've learned so much from you, old friend
About life and love and starting again,
About laughing and crying and reaching inside
To let out the feelings we so often hide.

3.
I've come to say goodbye, old friend.
I suppose I'll have to try, old friend,
To get on without you, I have no doubt you
Would want me to.
But I'm kind of afraid of how I'll do.
You know you always used to help me through.
With you gone I'm not sure I can stay strong
But I'll try just for you.

Ch.
And it must be that God has something special
Up in heaven for you to do,
'Cause I can't think of anyone who'd
Make a better angel than you.

He Was My Hero Then
Lyrics and Music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
Saturday morning and it's time again
To spend the day with my best friend
My Dad, my hero, I can hardly wait,
Baseball to play, neighborhood walks to take.
Gave me my first bike when I was too small
Showed me the world, said I could have it all.
Family vacations, took us everywhere
When I needed him he was always there.

Ch.
He was my hero then,
The man who somehow knew everything,
Gave my world meaning,
Made time to be my special friend,
He was my hero then.

2.
Wrestling matches on the living room floor
Sometimes he'd hurt me but I came back for more.
I didn't cry, I wouldn't let the tears show.
I was a big boy, he told me so.
Practicing wind-ups out in our backyard.
I was no pitcher but he tried so hard
To make me into things I thought I never could be.
It seems he lived his dreams through me.

Repeat chorus

Br.
My world was his world and his world was mine.
Each Saturday seemed to last a lifetime.
Planting a garden, fishing at the old pond.
Watching Red Skelton when the day was done.

3.
Teaching me lessons I would never forget
Preaching wisdom, some I haven't learned yet.
Letting me know it was all for my good.
Warning of wrongs he did so I never would.
Well, Dad, I guess it's time for me to say thanks.
You gave me courage and you gave me confidence.
You gave the world to me, said it was all mine.
But mostly, Dad, you always gave me your time.

Ch.
You were my hero then,
The man who somehow knew everything,
Gave my world its meaning,
Made the time to be my special friend,
You were my hero then.
And Dad, you're my hero now.

Ain’t No Dress Rehearsal
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
You should be living this life the best way you know how.
You better not put off the things you should do now.
‘Cause this ain’t no dress rehearsal. This life if the real thing.
You only get one time around and you can cry or you can sing.

Chorus:
Lord, I call to you for emancipation.
And though the world may burn in a conflagration,
I will love you Lord until the day I die,
Then I will praise your name from up on high,
Lift me Lord to my new home in the sky.

2.
Just take a close look at your life before it’s too late.
You seem to think there’s lots of time and that you can wait.
But this ain’t no dress rehearsal, and time is passing by.
You have to try to spread your wings if you ever want to fly.

Chorus:
Lord, I call to you for emancipation.
And though the world may burn in a conflagration,
I will love you Lord until the day I die,
Then I will praise your name from up on high,
Lift me Lord to my new home in the sky.

Waiting For Your Call
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
Like the continental soldier, like the minuteman of old,
Like the fireman in the station, snowplow driver when it's cold,
I'm patient but I'm ready, ready to give my all.
I'm listening for your word, Lord, waiting for you call.

2.
Like the preacher in the pulpit, like the singer in the band,
Like the artist Michelangelo painting Adam's outstretched hand,
I want to spread the message of your endless love and grace.
Just give me the word, Lord, I'll take it every place.

Bridge:
For all I wish to do my Lord is to serve you selflessly,
To humbly do whatever work that you would ask of me.

3.
Like the cowboy on the trail ride, like the shepherd with his sheep,
Like the sailor in the Navy, his appointed watch to keep,
I am waiting for a sign, Lord. Show me, please, what I should do.
Won't you just point to the way, Lord, that you want me to serve you.

We Are Not Alone
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
As we go through this life on earth,
The toil and trouble, joy and mirth,
This life we borrow but call our own,
We are not alone, we are not alone.

2.
As we take each step, live each day,
And as we struggle to find the way,
If we just listen, the way we'll know.
We are not alone, we are not alone.

Chorus:
We are not alone in the morning light.
Jesus is by our sides.
And we are not alone when we sleep at night.
God's arms hold us tight.   We are not alone.

3.
As we go through this mortal life,
Encountering troubles, pain and strife,
We're ever nearer to our Lord.
We are not alone, we are not alone.

Mortal Chains
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
Father in heaven, hear my prayer,
Strip away these mortal chains I wear.
Help me shed the pain and tears
Overcome these earthly sins and fears

Chorus:
Show me, Lord, the way to joy
The road to follow, the works to employ.
Father in heaven, hear my prayer,
Strip away these mortal chains I wear.

2.
Father in heaven, hear my plea,
Make a place inside your heart for me.
Forgive the sins I now confess.
Lead me on the path to righteousness.

Chorus

Bridge:
And I bow to you.
Your will I do.
Sing your glories, praise you name,
Cross the world spreading your fame

Chorus

Give From the Heart
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
When the Lord gives, He gives for all time.
When the Lord gives, His gift is divine.
And the gift that He gives us is love.
Always with us, sent down from above.

Chorus:
God's great gift is his presence in everything we do.
Every single minute, He's here with me and you,
And all He ever asks of us is to help our fellow man,
To give our gifts from the heart, to give all that we can.

2.
When the Lord gives, He holds nothing back.
He will always give us all we lack.
So completely, not counting the cost,
Even His own son, to die on the cross.

Repeat chorus.

God Won’t You Walk With Me
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
God won’t you walk with me as I go through my day?
Won’t you be there to guide my step, to always show the way?
God won’t you walk with me, to shelter me from above?
Keep me safe from evil and sin, protect me with your love.

Chorus:
The road of life is perilous. There’s danger at every turn.
Your guiding hand will help me with the lessons I must learn.

2.
God won’t you walk with me as I travel life’s long road?
Help me bear my burdens, Lord. Lighten my heavy load.
God won’t you walk with me and help me find my way?
Be there to turn me right again if I should start to stray.

Repeat chorus

3.
God won’t you walk with me, forever at my side.
Be my light through dark of night, always be my guide.

Amazed
By Mark E. Ellis and Sonya D. Ellis

1.
If you didn't know me but you heard my story,
You would be amazed
At how the lord came to me started to work through me.
My consciousness was raised.
If you never knew me but you knew how he used me,
You would be surprised.
At how the Lord saved me, the answers He gave me.
My spirit started to rise.

Chorus:
You would be amazed at how amazed I am
That the Lord chose me to spread His word.
You would be amazed at how amazed I am,
That people have already heard.
'Cause I'm just me, I'm not some prophet or seer,
I'm not a minister, a preacher or a priest,
But the Bible says that God's love will appear
The most to the very least.

2.
If you knew the special way the Lord has touched me,
You would feel my joy.
How he filled my heart up with His love and caring.
My childish fears destroyed.
If you heard the message that the Lord gave to me,
You would be in awe.
For Jesus died upon the cross for our redemption,
The final breath we draw.

Repeat chorus

God's Special Angels
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
Little Joe just smiles when the other kids call him names.
He knows they don't understand. He knows they're not to blame.
They call him retarded 'cause he's not like all the rest.
But his mama says he's a child of God, he is specially blessed.

2.
Every sunny morning, Morris goes out for a walk.
He is always hoping that someone will stop and talk,
But most just pass him by, being careful to stay clear.
What do you say to a blind man?  It's his white cane that they fear.

Chorus:
They're God's special angels, the ones God loves the best.
The special ones that He sends here to teach all the rest
That what is most important is what's inside our hearts.
He doesn't love us for what we do; He loves us for who we are.

3.
Mary doesn't go out much; she feels unwelcome in the world.
She's been told she's different since she was a little girl.
But it's not a handicap that she can't hear what people say.
She is just like they are, she just hears in a different way.

Repeat chorus

Jubilation Blues
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis

1.
God has come into my life.
God has come into my life.
He brought me jubilation, a cause for celebration.
God has come into my life.

2.
God has brought joy into my heart.
God has brought joy into my heart.
He gave his only son for me to save my soul for eternity.
God has brought joy into my heart.

3.
God has promised me eternal life.
God has promised me eternal life.
He brought me faith in resurrection, gave me new direction.
God has promised me eternal life.

Be My Fire Jesus
by Mark E. Ellis and Sonya Ellis

1.
For years I was burning with fire for things of this world.
For years I was filled with desire yet so unfulfilled.
My life was a game, living in sin and in shame
Then I found you, Lord, now nothing's the same.

Chorus:
Won't you be my fire, Jesus, all that I aspire to,
Center of everything I do? Won't you be my fire, Jesus?

2.
For years I was certain that I could make it alone.
For years I thought I could get by all on my own.
At that moment in time I truly thought I was fine.
When I found you, Lord, I found true peace of mind.

Repeat chorus

Bridge:
For years, there was nobody there.
For years there was no one to care.
I couldn't see that inside of me
The burning fire was burning me.

3.
For years I looked boldly ahead and thought I could see.
I believed every word that I said, walked confidently.
I thought I was alive but my soul was dying inside.
Then I found you, Lord, and my heart opened wide.

Accidental World
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis
    Copyright 1999

1. When the waves crash on the rocks when the tide is high
And the storm is out to sea.
It's a scene of majesty.
The sea has such power and authority
 It's the work of divinity,
Or did it happen naturally.

Ch. Do we live in an accidental world
Where time alone created all we see?
Is this world the work of God's own hands?
 Or did it happen accidentally?

2. All the leaves turn golden red when the summer ends,
And the grass turns brown and dry.
Soon the snow clouds fill the sky.
In the spring the leaves grow new and the grass grows tall.
 It's an annual miracle.
Unless it isn't God's work at all.

Chorus

Br. Scientists will tell you it all started with a bang
And that out of nothingness somehow this whole world sprang.
But I believe this world was made by God's own loving hands,
The land, the seas, the animals and, in His image, woman and man.

3. As the sun begins to set and the daylight fades,
The sky turns red in the west.
It's a sign of His holiness.
Look around and you'll see that nature is ablaze,
But are they colors that God has made
Or did they just come out that way?

Chorus

I Ask For Love
(The Lord's Prayer)
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis
    Copyright 1999

1.  I just want to tell you that I love you
And I'd like to spend some time with you.
I see you with your friends walking and laughing
I wish you'd let me be there with you, too.

Ch.1 I painted you a sunrise to give you warmth to start your day.
I whispered you a cool breeze, gave you a path to show your way.
I gave you flowers in springtime, all the colors of the fall.
And in return I ask for love, that's all.

2. As you fell asleep last night I watched you.
I made the moonlight fall upon your face.
As you slept I stayed the whole night with you.
I was there to make sure you were safe.

Ch.2 I gave you golden moonbeams and a million stars at night.
I made the peaceful meadows, filled them with flowers for your delight.
I made you streams and rivers and cascading waterfalls
And in return I ask for love, that's all.

Br. If you'd only listen, you'd hear me in the breeze.
The birds up in the trees sing songs for you.

Ch.3 I sculpted you the mountains, made the forests and the hills.
I gave fragrance to the flowers so your senses could be filled.
I gave you all earth's wonders. They are at your beck and call.
And in return I ask for love, that's all.

Baby's Breath
by Trace Vaughn and Mark E. Ellis
    Copyright 1999

What would it have been like
To have seen the virgin birth,
When the son of God took his first breath
And peace settled on the earth.

What would it have been like
To have felt the air he breathed,
Like wind from hovering angels' wings
As this whole world he freed?

 Chorus
Oh what grace was contained in a newborn baby's breath,
His tiny sigh, like a flower, so new and powerless.
But he possessed true gloriousness, a future full of might.
For on the cross, His dying breath was a breath of life.

What would it have been like
To have been there on that day
When Jesus breathed in all our sins,
  Then blew them all away.

 Repeat chorus

 Bridge
Baby's breath, baby's breath, a rose among the weeds.
Baby's breath, baby's breath, sent here to plant the seeds.

What would it have been like
To have been there on that day
When Jesus breathed in all our sins,
  Then blew them all away.

Emma

Her name is Emma, a child of the angels,
A child of the morning, a child of light.
One of God's chosen, a child of His mercy,
A child of His glory, favored in His sight.

A child whose gift is love, a gift from God above,
Bestowed on one so small, bringing to one and all
A message of faith. Just look at her face.

Her name is Emma, one of God's special angels,
Ever unchanging, a child for all time.
A blessing from heaven, her face always smiling,
Eyes full of wonder, God's gift of sunshine.

A child whose gift is love, a gift from God above,
Bestowed on one so small, bringing to one and all
A message of faith. Just look at her face.

Her name is Emma, a father's joy granted,
A mother's prayer answered by God's loving hand.

It Feels Like My Own
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis
    Copyright 1999

 1.  It was the summer when I turned nine
Daddy called me in and said to sit down
"You're going to find sometime anyway
So I might as well tell you now.
I had to go and see the doctor today
He said I'm sick and don't have too long left.
It's OK to cry but don't feel sad
Because I'm not afraid of what comes next."

I said, "Daddy won't you help me 'cause I'm not that strong.
Without your help I fear I won't hold on.
I'm glad you're here with me and I'm not alone
You give your strength so freely it feels like my own."

2. All that summer daddy stayed to himself
As the days passed at our house on the bay.
Then one day I asked if I could row out
Past the point 'cause I knew the way.
I thought that, like before, he'd just say no
But instead he said that he'd come along.
And as I rowed and rowed I realized
The current was just too strong.

And I said, "Daddy won't you help me 'cause I'm not that strong.
Without your help I fear I won't hold on.
I'm glad you're here with me and I'm not alone
You give your strength so freely it feels like my own."

 3.  We made it out beyond the point that day
Me and daddy rowing side by side.
It was the last time that we spent that way
For when the summer ended daddy died.
After we buried him I went back home
And sat down in his favorite chair.
Hidden under it I happened to find
A piece of paper with this prayer.

"Father won't you help me 'cause I'm not that strong.
Without your help I fear I won't hold on.
I'm glad you're here with me and I'm not alone
You give your strength so freely it feels like my own."

And now years later I remember that day,
Me and daddy rowing and here's what I pray.

Father won't you help me 'cause I'm not that strong.
Without your help I fear I won't hold on.
I'm glad you're here with me and I'm not alone
You give your strength so freely it feels like my own.

The First Time
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis
    Copyright 1999

1.
Like the first note of music to someone born deaf,
Like the first ray of sunshine to one born blind,
Like the first halting footsteps to one who couldn't walk
That's how it feels the first time

Chorus
That we hear how much the Lord Jesus loves us
And that He gave us the greatest gift He could give.
He let them nail Him to a cross so that He could save the lost.
He gave His life so you and I could live.

2
Like the first taste of freedom to someone enslaved,
Like the first time you're lost and find your way,
Like the first time a mother holds her newborn babe,
That's how it feels on that day

Chorus
That we hear how much the Lord Jesus loves us
And that He gave us the greatest gift He could give.
He let them nail him to a cross so that He could save the lost.
He gave His life so you and I could live.

Bridge
Like the first time you see a golden sunrise.
Like the first time you smell lilacs in bloom.
Like the first time you understand the meaning
Of His resurrection from the tomb,

Chorus
Then we know how much the Lord Jesus loves us
And that He gave us the greatest gift He could give.
He let them nail Him to a cross so that He could save the lost.
He gave His life so you and I could live.

I Hear Grandmother Singing
By Mark E. Ellis and Maria L. Coleman
    Copyright 1999

1. I can still hear grandmother singing
And she always sings the same sweet song:
"What a Friend We Have in Jesus."
She sings the verses clear and strong.

2. For the friend she knew was endless
 And His presence was secure.
He was faithful and He loved her
 And she needed nothing more.

Chorus
What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and grief to bear.
 What a privilege to carry
 Everything to Him in prayer.

3. I can still hear grandmother singing
And I know God loves her song
For she's singing it before Him.
She has joined the heavenly throng.

4. She has found her home in Jesus
And that's where she'll ever be,
And it's because of grandmother's singing
That Jesus found a home in me.

Chorus
What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and grief to bear.
 What a privilege to carry
 Everything to Him in prayer.

Groundswell
By Mark E. Ellis and Sonya D. Ellis
    Copyright 1999

 1. What the world's become today,
  Full of violence and sex.
We say there has to be a better way,
Then sit and wonder what comes next.

 2. We blame the teachers and the government
For the things that have gone wrong.
But can we really say we're innocent
When we've been silent for so long?

Ch. We need a groundswell of action,
We need to make our voices heard.
We need a groundswell of action,
  We've been too long deterred.
We need a groundswell of action,
  We must proclaim the Word.
We need a groundswell of action,
  Groundswell of action.

 3. I didn't happen to us overnight.
It took years to get this way.
And though at first we put up a fight
We gave it up along the way.

 4. We said that surely God would punish them
And then He'd make things right again.
But didn't He say we must represent
  His holy covenant.

Ch. We need a groundswell of action,
We need to make our voices heard.
We need a groundswell of action,
  We've been too long deterred.
We need a groundswell of action,
  We must proclaim the Word.
We need a groundswell of action,
  Groundswell of action.

Look Around
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis
    Copyright 1999

 1. Look around me, summer days abound, we wonder
Where the time has gone.  Keeps moving on.
Look around me, autumn winds astound, we wonder
What will be when it's done.  What's to come.

 Chorus
God has the answers in His holy book of life.
His words will lead us from the darkness to the light.
Inside its pages, He writes our stories.
Down through the ages, our pain and our glories,
  He writes our lives.

 2. Look around you, this whole world confounds, you wonder
Where it all begins, and where it ends.
Look around you, put your armor down, to know Him
You must let Him in, trust in Him.

 Repeat chorus

3. Look around me, feel His Word surround, He wraps His Love around our
hearts, makes His mark.
Look around you, majesty resounds, you hear His
Music, see His art, where it starts.

   Repeat chorus

The prince of peace, servant to the least.
  Let His glory ring.

He is my lighthouse, the light of my world.

Promised Land
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis
    Copyright 1999

1. Sailing ships sail through the night
 Traveling without the light,
Using only stars to set their course
Searching for the promised land to port.
Foolish people, foolish lives,
 Thinking that's where joy resides
Don't they know that God's the only source
If they ask Him, He'll send blessings forth,
 But of course.

2. Two martinis with their lunch,
Play the numbers on a hunch,
All life's riches just outside their door.
Not enough, they're always wanting more.
They don't see their foolish ways
Won't bring peace or better days.
Close their eyes, they don't see what's in store.
The only peace is in the evermore
 With the Lord.

3.  Always sure they'll find the way,
 Give themselves another day,
Confident that someday they will soar
While deep inside they're frightened and unsure.
Full of questions, full of doubt,
 Wonder what it's all about.
Sometimes fear goes to their very core
While the simple answer they ignore:
 Love the Lord.

Rock Solid Faith
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis

  1. We're all out on a ship on the ocean
Trying to find a safe place to land.
But we can count on Christ's love and devotion.
He will guide us with His loving hand.

  Chorus
When you drop your anchor on a muddy bottom
You know it won't hold fast.
Anchor your faith to solid rock if you
   Want it to last.
Rock solid faith, you need rock solid faith.
Anchor your faith to Jesus Christ our Lord.

  2. When the ocean wind starts to blowing
And the ship starts rocking side to side.
That is when your faith ought to be growing.
Jesus Christ is there to be your guide.

Chorus
When you drop your anchor on a muddy bottom
You know it won't hold fast.
Anchor your faith to solid rock if you
   Want it to last.
Rock solid faith, you need rock solid faith.
Anchor your faith to Jesus Christ our Lord.

Did You Ever
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis

 1.  Did you ever, did you ever, did you ever see a pig?
Did you ever see a pig that was wearing a wig?
If you ever saw a pig that was wearing a wig,
What does that say about you?

Ch. It says you're a person with imagination.
It says you're a person with good concentration.
It says you're a person with stories to tell
And I bet you tell them well.

 2.  Did you ever, did you ever, did you ever see a mouse?
Did you ever see a mouse that was building a house?
If you ever saw a mouse that was building a house,
What does that say about you?

 3.  Did you ever, did you ever, did you ever see a cat?
Did you ever see a cat that was wearing a hat?
If you ever saw a cat that was wearing a hat,
What does that say about you?

 4. Cow -- take a bow
 5. Frog -- out for a jog
 6. Duck -- driving a truck

How'd You Like to Be Noah
    by Mark E. Ellis
    Copyright 1998

 1.
Do you know the story of Noah and his ark,
How one day God came to Him and said he must embark
On a fateful journey while it rained for 40 days.
Noah's job was to make sure all the animals were saved.

 Chorus
Well, how'd you like to be Noah with an elephant by your bed,
A giraffe in your dining room, a rattlesnake above your head,
With monkeys in the attic and your ceiling covered with bats?
Lions and tigers and bears all around, how would you like that?

 2.
God said to Noah, I'll bring a flood upon the earth,
'Cause people have been evil and that is all their worth.
But you have been a good man, so you and your family
Get to build this great big ship and float on the flooded sea.

 Repeat chorus

 Bridge
God said, Noah save the animals, gather them two by two,
And lead them all inside the ark where they'll be safe with you.

 3.
So Noah got ready, he obeyed the Lord's command.
The water rose up and up until there was no visible land.
And for 150 days or so inside that ark they sat,
Till the flood subsided and they landed on Mount Ararat.

Manger In Your Heart
Words and music by Mark E. Ellis
    Copyright 1999

I said, "God, I want to grow, I want to change my life.
Teach me what I need to know to finally make things right.
I come to you in sinfulness, I give to you my pain.
Take it all away from me.  Make me new again."

And God smiled down upon me and said, "I'm glad you asked.
For there is only one way to get beyond your past
Love the baby Jesus, that's how you've got to start,
And build a little manger in your heart."

So I read the story about the Christ child's birth.
The joyful songs the angels sang    telling of His worth.
Then I sang my own sweet song    inviting Jesus in.
And He came to the manger that I had built within.

And God smiled down upon me and said, "I'm glad you asked.
For there is only one way to get beyond your past
Love the baby Jesus,    that's how you've got to start,
And build a little manger in your heart."

BOO

Words and music by Mark E. Ellis
    Copyright 1998

1.  Johnny's dad was coming up the stairs when BOO, Johnny scared him.
And Johnny's mom was coming through the door when BOO, Johnny scared her.
Johnny thought that it was really cool to scare his family and all the kids
in school.
And even though he knew that it was mean he liked it when they yelled and
screamed.

2.  So Johnny hid when he heard his brother coming and BOO, Johnny scared
him.
He hid at school when the other kids went by and BOO, Johnny scared them.
His dad and mom knew something must be done. Only Johnny laughed, no one
else thought it was fun.
They thought and thought about what they could do, then Johnny's dad said
we'll say BOO, too.

3.   So one day Johnny was coming up the stairs when BOO, his dad scared
him.
The next day Johnny was coming through the door when BOO, his mom scared
him.
Finally, young Johnny understood that scaring people isn't very good.
He made a promise right then and there to never, ever again scare --
anybody.
